Astak of San Jose, California, has been approved by Adobe Inc. to sell devices with Adobe Digital Editions. Astak, a Team Research Inc company, is only the second manufacturer to gain such approval. Astak Inc.'s factories will now be able to preload eBook readers with Adobe Digital Editions firmware so that customers can read copy-protected PDF eBooks and documents. For existing customers who already own the 6" EZ Reader Basic, Astak will offer the Adobe Digital Editions firmware upgrade for download at www.astak.com as well as www.theezreader.com.

Having the Adobe Digital Editions firmware will allow end users to purchase the very latest eBook titles from websites that offer copy-protected PDF eBooks.  The EZ Reader also supports open-format eBooks, allowing end users to download non-copy protected eBooks almost anywhere. Having the Adobe Digital Editions firmware installed on your device will allow ePUB formatted document control and a more enhanced PDF reading experience, with "REFLOW" of the PDF document.
